Tesla opens its patents in bid to speed up electric car development. Tesla Motors said It would allow others to use its intellectual property in hopes of speeding up development of electric cars by all manufacturers. The company would not take legal action against anyone who “in good faith, wants to use our technology”.

Like Elon Musk, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tesla Motors said:

“Let’s say there’s a bunch of people on a ship and there’s bunch of holes in the ship and we’re quite good at bailing water out of our section and we’ve invented this nice bucket. It’ll be foolish of us not to share that bucket design. Because if the ship goes down, we’re going with it”
